What is the cheapest Pokemon booster box? (2023)

Pokémon players and collectors often ask the question "What is the cheapest Pokémon booster box?" and my answer is that it changes every few months. After a Pokémon set is released, prices go up and down, and you'll often see the same ups and downs in box prices.

When a new Pokémon set is released by The Pokémon Company, Booster Box prices often stay the same for weeks and/or months. If the set is popular during this time, more and more booster cases will be torn up and pulled from the market and the supply will begin to dwindle. When the set is not popular, commemorative stocks remain high and prices begin to fall. It's the old business of supply and demand.

That being said, everyone wants to knowWHAT IS THE CHEAPEST POKÉMON BOOSTER?that time?? Okay, before I tell you what I discovered, I'd like to lay down a few simple ground rules. My research only looked at the regular 36-pack booster boxes. I do not include any Elite Trainer Crates, Premium or Collection Crates, Booster Pack Crates, Birthday Crates or anything other than a regular Booster Crate. Also, we're only talking about English versions.

With that said, let's dive in and tell you what I see in the market.

Favorable Box No. 1: Pokémon Scarlet & Violet Paldea Evolved Booster Box

Currently, one of the cheapest Pokémon booster boxes is thePokémon Scarlet & Violet PALDEA EVOLVED Booster-Box. This set is expected to be released in early June 2023 and pre-orders for this product are quite cheap right now.

Prices have been hovering between $100 and $110 lately, and you can still find some eBay sellers offering pre-orders at that price. I've also seen some sales for under $105 recently. So if you are in the right place at the right time, you can secure a deal!

Amazon is pretty solid at $115 for this particular box and it's still a pretty good deal. Today, most amp cases are hard to find under $105-110. So if you can find them on eBay, they are definitely one of the cheaper options. But for free Amazon and Prime shipping, somewhere around $115 is definitely not a bad deal. Remember, these boxes won't ship until Monday, June 12, 2023. So if you can wait, it's very important to get there early.

Cheap Box #2: Pokémon Scarlet & Violet Booster Box

This set is one of my favorites right now. I like that you understoodTHREE holocards IN EACH PACK, where at least one of the holes is rare or higher and the other two are reverse holes.

I know the box prices went up a bit when this product came out, but Pokemon has raised the bar by making sure players and collectors get these amazing holos in every box. Opening a package and getting a holo is always fun and exciting, so I think this box is worth checking out.

Cheap Box #3: Pokémon Sword & Shield Battle Styles Booster Booster

Pokémon Sword and Shield fighting stylewas the first major expansion set of 2021 and is a huge hit with collectors. The return of the exclusive Alternate Art cards has been a huge hit and the boxes are a lot of fun to open (especially when they're cheap!)

I think most people would consider Battle Styles to be a great set, and it probably falls well short of Vivid Voltage as the best main expansion for Sword & Shield. Finding the V and VMAX maps in packs is a lot of fun, and the list of maps is great, including some favorites.Eboleon BmTyranitar Vto name a few. And who doesn't love opening a backpack and finding a rainbow leaf? Just a really fun box to open.

Also what is the price you say? It's actually not that bad since the 36 packs sell for $110-$115. This brings the average package price to just over $3.00, which is really affordable. Considering the individual packs are around $4.99 each, buying them in individual packs is a spectacular deal, which is why it makes our list of the cheapest Bokémon Boosters!

For about $110, you also get a box that can be filled with valuable cards, as the set contains at least (5) cards that run you over $30 each if you can find them. These include Level Ball ($37), Empoleon V Alternate Full Art Holo ($40), Urshifu VMAX (Alternate Art Secret) Holo ($45), Rapid Strike Urshifu VMAX (Alternate Art Secret) Holo ($70) and more. coveted Tyranitar V ( Alternative Full Art) Holo ($130). Combine that with a bunch of $10-$20 worth of cards and you have a great box!

Cheap Box #4: Pokémon Sword & Shield Booster Lost Origin Booster

One of the last sets of the Sword & Shield series,LOST ORIGINS, was released in September 2022 and was hot from the start. And while it's not the cheapest box on our list at around $135 for a pack of 36, the price isn't bad... especially for what you can find inside!

Why do I like Lost Origin? Well, where else can you find one of the coolest and most expensive Pokémon cards to hit the market in a while... Giratina V! This card is easily one of the most spectacular alternate art cards you can find in any Pokémon, and you have a chance to find one in a Lost Origin Booster. If you're lucky enough to find the full holographic version, expect it to cost around $350 for this card alone. That's more than double the price of the box!

And guess what? If you can't find Giratina V, you have a chance at Giratina VStar Secret Holo ($22), Perrserker V Alternate Full Art Holo ($38), Rotom V Alternate Full Art Holo ($45), or Aerodactyl V Alternate Full Art Holo ($138)! Not too shabby.

I think this is another set that will increase in value over time. Besides Giratina V's upcoming Legendary Alternative Art Holofolio card, there are probably (15) cards in the $7-$10 range and at least (30) or more cards in the $2-$5 range. Not to mention it's a fun set and for what I think is a reasonable price for the potential value inside, I'd definitely recommend it.

Value Box #5 (3-Way Tie): Pokémon Sword & Shield Brilliant Stars, Chilling Reign e Silver Tempest

Because Pokemon are incredibly popular around the world, you'll rarely see box prices drop below $100 (unless they go live). Over time, prices increase significantly from $100 to $150 and beyond.

So these three sets, ranked 5th on our list of the cheapest Pokemon booster boxes, started to move to the next level. BUT I still think they are affordable and YES, CHEAP!

If the prices for these boxes are within your budget, it's worth checking out. All are currently available for around $140, which I think is extremely cheap for the value of the cards they contain.

Who wouldn't want to find a $250 Blaziken VMAX Alternate Art Secret Holo?cooling rule! Or how about a $200 Lugia V Alternate Full Art Holo?silver storm? Maybe the $170 Charizard V Alternative Complete Art Holoshining starsis what you are looking for. I would like to draw one of these.

That's one of the reasons I think these three Pokemon Booster Boxes are cheap right now, and why I think they'll be gone from this roach list soon. And these are just three of the best cards from these sets. There are many other cards (too many to list) ranging in price from $20 to $100!

Prices on Amazon have stayed pretty steady in the $150-$170 range, but I think you'll find better deals on eBay. I can buy each of these for about $145, but I'm finding that supplies aren't as plentiful as they used to be. For some sets that are now a bit bigger and full of desirable cards, I think this is awesome.

I think all three sets are great and have been forgotten to some extent...but they will eventually find their place. Take advantage of the box prices now, because I think in another year all three will be closer to $150-200 and wake up like Charizard with explosive fire!

So these are the cheapest Pokemon boxes currently available at the time of this post. I'm sure things will change and adjust over time and we'll update the site with a new post once the script changes again. Grab them now while they're hot! But where can you find these deals?

Where to find the cheapest Pokemon booster box

So there are a few places I would look for cheap amp cases and I'll list them below. Remember to shop around as I have found that box prices vary greatly depending on where you live.

Amazon

When it comes to booster boxes (actually EVERYTHING these days), I usually look at Amazon first. In addition to being super convenient to buy from Amazon and have stuff delivered to your door, the prices are often quite competitive on very popular Pokémon items.

I always mention this, but the Amazon links above are affiliate links, so when you click on the link, we get a small commission from Amazon for anything you buy. This definitely helps the site and allows us to (hopefully) grow and bring you even better content. But I will say this. If you're a Prime member, you can't beat free 2-day shipping, and that definitely helps when buying Pokemon booster boxes. I would check there first.

Another thing I want to mention is the Authenticity of the boxes. There are a lot out there for fake cases and I want to make sure any links I provide go straight to Amazon. I like buying from them because if there is a problem you can always return the product. Easy as pie, no questions asked.

Ebay

Another hassle-free option is to check eBay, but I'd make sure to only buy from a reputable seller. I have a few sellers I follow on eBay for Magic.MetaZooand closed boxes of Pokemon and those are what I usually buy. I chose them because they have good stock levels, great feedback, they're close enough to me that shipping is fast, and their prices are always SUPER competitive.

Look for sellers who have (or had) many cases for sale. They are usually online retailers with large stores, but may even be a physical toy store on premises. Make sure they have good feedback and have been on eBay for a while. I know everyone starts somewhere but if I spend $100 on a cheap Pokemon booster box or even $150 or more on an expensive boxolder booster boxI want to make sure I'm buying from a reputable source. Do your homework (or just buy it from Amazon).

Local Game Store (LGS)

I keep pushing it. Support your local toy stores if you can. Some things may cost a bit more, but when it comes to box prices, they're usually pretty competitive.

This is not the case for all LGS as some have higher overhead costs of owning a business and having to pay rent, mortgages, wages etc. In these cases, prices may be higher. However, I would recommend looking at your LGS first and then deciding whether to buy online when the offer is much better.

all or rest

There are many other places you can try to buy the cheapest Pokémon booster boxes and these include Facebook groups, online auction sites like Whatnot, Craigslist, local comic and card shows, and even large regional conventions. This may be a godsend, but it's worth checking out.

However, I like the convenience of Amazon, eBay, and local game stores, and I think you'll be able to find just about any booster box you want (cheap or expensive) at one of these locations for the most part.
